A Case of the Week
Case 149
A sixteen year-old male came to our hospital suffering from sensory lowering of from left upper extremity to neck. Last August, he realized he could not feel coldness well. When he took out cold-drink from the refrigerator, he did not feel the coldness of the drink. Further, he did not feel scratch pain well, something like sensation through a paper on the skin. The numbness ascended to the neck by the end of the last autumn. No motor dysfunction is found. Sense of touch is retained.
He and his mother agreed to take cervical MRI for further investigation (Figs. 1, 2).
