A Case of the Week
Case 124
A seventy-year-old female was transported from a hospital to our hospital for rehabilitation. Because her family members lived nearby our hospital, it was more convenient to take care of her. She had suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and interstitial pneumonia. She had received home oxygen therapy for approximately three years. Each time dyspnea worsened, she was given steroid and immune-suppressants under diagnosis of rheumatoid lung.
Laboratory test revealed CRP 5.82 mg/dL, red blood cells 246X104/mm3, Hb 7.3g/dL, platelets 15 X104/mm3, white blood cells 1670/mm3, neutrophils 83.8%, lymphocytes 9.6%, BNP (brain natriuretic peptide) 122.7 pg/mL. She agreed to receive chest CT for further investigation.
What is the radiological pattern of her rheumatoid arthritis related interstitial pneumonia on CT?
